Bircham Windmill

Atracción | King's Lynn | Inglaterra | Reino Unido

Intriguing place, nice to see a windmill that still works. They have a bakery on site where you can make your own loaf. You can also climb the 6 flights of stairs/ladders to the very top - excellent 👌

We visited Bircham Windmill during our holiday and we had such a lovely time. The windmill is beautiful and has a lot of history. We chose to make bread from scratch and Caroline was so helpful, she talked us through the bread making process. We made our bread and left it with Caroline and she baked it for us while we went and had a cup of tea and something to eat. The cafe is lovely and very clean. I had a bacon seeded roll which was delicious and my husband had a toastie which he enjoyed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. When we went back to collect our bread we had to buy, because they looked so delicious, 2 scones, a donut, sausage roll and a seeded roll......all were so tasty and nothing was wasted. If you are looking for something a bit different then this is the place to visit.

I love going here. Been visiting this place as a local firm my kids being toddlers, that are now in their early twenties. A great family day out or just with my wife for some peace and quiet and a bit of fun.

Can't believe we hadn't found this place before - an absolute gem. Two young kids (3&2) loved their day bread making, exploring, play areas etc - and we had a great time as well. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back

Wonderful to look round this windmill. You really get the atmosphere of what it was like all those years ago when the whole mill was fully functional. Made my own bread which was great and to take home. Staff all so friendly and helpful especially the lady who talked me through making bread. Wonderful selection of cakes etc. Lovely tea room although not happy about dogs being allowed in. At one stage there were 5 dogs in quite a small area. I have an allergy with dogs and start to sneeze and my eyes become sore and run. Saying that I will go back next season as I will have a go at making butter. Well worth a visit for such a great experience.

A very unique location, if you can find it! That's the real challenge but if you're successful the rewards are brilliant, and so is the tea and sticky buns. Lunches are well made and sarnies are made using bread baked on site from flour grounds on site. Not to be missed.

It's a windmill. Well I think it is. Looks like one but didn't see it turn and no dodgy looking Miller supping cider at the door.

Went with grandsons aged 4 and 7. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Climbing to the top of the mill not for the faint hearted. Boys enjoyed playing being a miller and ticking off objects on the detective trail, rewarded with a sweet and badge. A small play area kept them amused. They loved making a loaf of bread to take home. Cafe was very busy but plenty of space outside to enjoy a cup of tea and cake. Kids lunch boxes were a little pricey but they enjoyed them. All in all a great day.

Lovely way to spend a windy day in North Norfolk. Great experience for children who like to bake. We made a delicious loaf of bread together. Whilst the bread proved we climbed the windmill which is not for the faint hearted. Sensible shoes and strong legs required to reach the top. While our bread made it to the oven, we stopped in the cafe for a lovely lunch. Followed by some butter making and a wonder around the "museum" and run around the play area. We bought home our loaf, butter and an arm full of amazing doughnuts along with happy children. Overall a lovely day trip out on a day the weather was too poor to visit the beaches.

We were a party òf 2 adults and 4 children, ages of which were 5, 10, 14 and 16. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and attentive. All the young staff were really good too. Our kids enjoyed making their bread as they love experiential outings, even more so when they can eat what they've made. 😉 We spent a few hours there and it was an interesting little place. You can get to the top of the windmill via the inner floor room and work your way up. There are various dressing up boxes with old work gear in there for photo opportunities. Everything outside the windmill was very clean and looked after and the kitchen inside the windmill is a working kitchen where they bake your bread and make goodies for the shop and cafe. The windmill decor was obviously made to look old and worn to take you back in time to a working mill, It did the trick. There are various places to sit down if you wish to and the cafe is there of course for refreshments and yummy food. 😋 dogs are welcome on the outside but not inside the bakery or Mill. There were also a horse and donkey there to pet. Some play areas for the kids, with slides and ridealong toys. There are also various activities in each area to play with. Can't fault it. Would recommend just for the experience. As I said all of us enjoyed it and we took part in everything as well. The kids want to go again next week so it can't be that bad haha.

Great to see a working milll and go up inside. Staff were helpful. Bread smells amazing. Cafe had run out of few things as we arrived at 1:45pm. Food was average and milkshake was poor so avoid those. All in all a pleasant day out.
